Thanks to Rachel for setting the record straight. Like the economy, this didn't just happen in the past 9 months. You can choose to blame Obama for everything that is wrong in the entire universe, but the fact of the matter is that these things takes months/years to set in motion - and if he hadn't supported the bid, he would have been taken to task for that!
Geez, what is wrong with everyone. We all need to take a breath and chill out - American has gone N.U.T.S!

It might not have anything to do with the United States at all. South America has never had an Olympic Games. Maybe the people making the choice just thought it was time to fix that.
I, personally, just want to see the costumes the dancers are wearing at the opening ceremonies in Rio.
